I see every audition as a way to polish your resume, speaking as a fellow singer, is to get yourself out there in as many ways as possible. Try out as many auditions as possible and don't just limit yourself to the face-to-face ones either - there are plenty of great online contests like MakeAStar that offer good exposure and some prize money. The most important thing is to be as confident as possible!

I appreciate your responds and every singer has his/her favorite way of approaching audition day. What I have found is that occasionally some singers will over practice and loose some of their spontaneity for their song. But it is good to work it up and be very comfortable both vocally and tonally the day of performance. Thank you for sharing your thoughts!

While I agree with many of the tips you have posted, I disagree with the idea of avoiding singing your song the day before and the day of. While I also believe that resting up is important, in my experience, I find it a lot more comforting to practice the morning of in order to warm-up my voice and to make sure I am warming up in the proper intonation and range. I agree that you shouldn't over do it but I have found that practicing the day of helps me more than it hurts, if you do it the right way. But it is absolutely important to stretch, relax and know your character and the song's message. Some good tips here!
